Rev. Joan Fergus

Joan has a Master’s of Science Degree in Education from the University of Colorado and has spent over 20 years working with children and adults with special needs, along with teaching health and wellness programs in the community. She spent 12 years in the creative world of Waldorf education… as a parent of a Waldorf student and as the Enrollment Director in a Waldorf School.

Joan became ordained as a non-denominational wedding minister in 2013.  Officiating weddings is her passion, as she enjoys the connections she has with couples, helping them create a wedding ceremony that uniquely expresses their love and commitment. Joan has two adult children and lives in Racine, WI. She also serves as a substitute teacher, volunteering in the community.  Her joy is making a difference in the life of others.  She loves walks in nature with her dog Ozzy (and misses her other ‘wild beast’ Millie).

Susan Larkin

Susan Larkin became a non-denominational wedding celebrant in 2015.  Her loving and supportive style adds a vibrant joy to the day. Susan loves getting to know couples and hearing their stories. It’s all about love in Susan’s eyes!
Susan has an extensive background in education, grant writing, community development and the arts. Her undergraduate studies were in psychology, communications and media, earning her Masters Degree in Adult & Higher Education.  A love of community and media led to producing and hosting unique local television programs. Along with teaching graduate and undergraduate classes at Alverno College, National-Louis University and Carthage College.  , she continues her lifelong learning within the Art Therapy program at Alverno College.
As a multi-talented artist, Susan has shared her joyful take on life with a wide range of audiences, as a singer-songwriter at music festivals, a live-stage storyteller, a motivational presenter for senior groups and an artist-in-residence for children. She released her first CD, “So Susan” as a variety of original folk-style music that emerged from her collection of journals. Her contributions also include a 5-year community based intergenerational coloring project.
Although Susan Larkin’s deep love for life can be contagious, her own heart radiates its brightest when she’s around her son, grandsons and granddaughter. Luckily they live in Southeastern Wisconsin.  So, despite a life of travels and adventures, Susan’s not going anywhere that takes her too far from home!
